Sukhasana is the easiest Yoga exercise. In Sukhasana you sit on a hard surface, cross legged and a straight back. The shins can be widened to make the sitting more comfortable, the outer edges of the feet can be rested on the floor. Once you are in the proper position, take in deep breaths and exhale slowly. If you meditate whilst doing this, it will put a positive attitude in the brain and will hence help you both physically and mentally.
It is again a pretty easy pose;it is a useful exercise that helps in lengthening the spine and growing taller. For this you will have to stand tall whilst the toes are touching each other. Once it is done, the toes shall be lifted and extended, balancing the weight equally on both the feet. Whilst avoiding the hardening of the belly, thighs should be contracted and the knee caps should be lifted. Once done, the arms have to be raised above the head. Concurrently, bring up your body upwards, bringing up your bodyon the tips of your toes. It is recommended to pull your shoulder blades to the back so that you don’t have to tighten your belly every now and then. Now your body will feel the stretch, maintain that position for at least 30-40 seconds and release the pose gently.
This is again a very simple pose, it is more like building a bridge with your body. Lie down straight on your back and keep your hands straight in the upwards direction. Once in this position, bend your knees and place your palms on the floor, now pull your body upwards, using the strength of your arms and legs together. When you come upwards, your body should be making a semicircle against the floor. This exercise is really beneficial for the spine as it increases the flexibility of the spine and will greatly help in secreting growth hormones.
Commonly known as the cobra pose. In this pose, lie down straight on your stomach. Now place the palms in alignment with your shoulders and pull your back upwards, stretching it as much as you can. Maintain the pose for about 1 minute, and then come down gently. 10 reps a day are good. This helps in flexibility of the spine and reducing the body fat.
5. Surya namaskar:
In the aasana, you have to stand straight with your hands raised above your head. Then bend down and touch your toes with your hands, without bending your knees, initially it might be difficult in the initial period but it will be easier with time.
